Fitch Affirms US Airways' Ratings; Outlook Stable

An interesting read. Fitch pretty much hits the mark on US' potential weaknesses and strengths - mainly decent cash flow and RASM but rather low liquidity and full exposure to any future jet fuel price increases. And after all, "stable" only means that Fitch doesn't expect to downgrade or upgrade the specific dept mentioned in the near term.

Fitch affirms US Airways debt rating

From the linked AP story:

They include an issuer default rating of "CCC," a senior secured term loan due in 2014 at "B+" and senior unsecured convertible notes at "C." The last rating is the weakest of the group, and Fitch says it means US Airways' notes carry "exceptionally high levels of credit risk" and "default is imminent or inevitable."

That certainly is reassuring news.
