SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Standard & Poor's Ratings Services on Monday raised the outlook on AMR Corp. /quotes/comstock/13*!amr/quotes/nls/amr (AMR 7.73, -0.16, -2.03%) and its subsidiary, American Airlines Inc., to stable from negative while affirming the two companies' B-corporate credit ratings. "Our affirmation and outlook revision are based on AMR's improving operating performance, which has strengthened its credit ratios," said S&P credit analyst Betsy Snyder in a statement

I agree with the S&P. American can show flatlined costs other than fuel. All profits can be absorbed into servicing debts on the fleet modernization.

And, the employees? Docile.

How do you figure that's the case? AA is hardly 'hiding' profit when it just posted one in plain sight.

Got your tin foil hat ready?
