Must have been lots of Secret Service there.

I'd be willing to bet the secret service knows ever weapon they have.

I think security is paid by the tax payers due to the involvement of the SS, The Presidential Library act passed in 1955 established that the libraries were to be built using non-federal funds and that once built they would be turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration who administers the library. Up until 1978, Presidents assumed that all records created by them and their staff where their personal property to do with as they pleased. In 1978 the Presidential Records Act established that all documents created as a result of presidential duties were public property so once they leave office, the Archivist of the US assumes control over all the documents. In 1988, the Presidential Library act required that an endowment be in place to off set the cost of operation.

So I guess that means we paid for security but the rest is covered by the library. I guess that is why it cost $16 to get in to George W's library.

I meant the Secret Service! Why should Law enforcement have a different set of rules then the citizens?

That's what I meant. I believe that every weapon carried by every SS agent (especially those who have any connection to the WH) is registered with the SS. And I bet t covers all their personal weapons as well.
