Flight Attendant Attrition

Between 9/1/04 and 10/1/04 I have jumped almost by 180 on the Flight Attendant System Seniority list. I was shocked when I saw my new seniority # on CATCREW. Are FAs really leaving in droves or was this the result of the VSIP?

Mostly retirment, resignations and terminations. Company will still furlough, and downsize the ranks through productivity enhancments. I don't think the resignations will havppen as fast as the a new concessionary contract that will prompt more furloughs if ratified.
