Flight to MKE cancelled due to...

Hopefully this f/a will get the help she needs. Unfortunately, it will probably cost her her job. Sad!

FYI we have just deleted a duplicate topic on this subject-please discuss this incident here.

Thank you.

" U.S. Airways flight from Charlotte, N.C., to Milwaukee."

"U.S. Airways" (complete with periods) when this was an Express flight. I am sure than media affairs in Tempe is having a chat with the copy editor. NOT. I am tired of Express carriers' problem being labeled as those of mainline.

Perhaps we should include it somewhere in our SCOPE language that Express's issues should be labeled as such -
Ah heck, what does the general pop know about that, we've only given over 45% of our mainline flying away -

Maybe she was diabetic and was going into diabetic shock. How stupid do you have to be to try to brief someone when you are drunk?

*to customer in slurred speech with glassy eyes* "Now this here *HIC* is a door exit and that tharrrr *HIC* is a winder exit *bellllch* 'scuse me*

I'm mostly annoyed at this guy "Russart" that is widely quoted in the article.

never knew cops had medical degrees. There could have been any number of reasons including intoxication for her incapacitation. So what I'd like to know was she treated at a hospital?

I do not want to pick a fight because I know your frustrated with a situation that happens all too often. However, I have to point out that if you buy a ticket on US Airways you expect to fly on US Airways. Unless you ask or you look real close when you book a ticket you may never know till you step on the plane that it is Air Wisconsin. A good example is when my company bought a ticket for me at the last minute for a meeting. The ticket said Delta all over it. The trip had four segments (roundtrip with connection) and I did not set foot on a Delta aircraft. In fact my trip was on two different carriers. I was on Freedom and Comair. If anything happens to any of the segments I call Delta. I checked in at the Delta counter. My airplane had the Delta logo. I received miles to my Delta account. I consider myself a savy traveler and I pay attention to things like who is actually flying me. I don't think the average traveler that booked on Expedia pays that close of attention. Their ticket says US Airways and that is who they are flying on.

It is no different if I were to own a Chevy Aveo. It is made by Daewoo in Korea and has parts made in Japan by Suzuki. If I have a problem with the Suzuki transmission I go to my Chevy Dealer. The folks at Chevy don't tell me that the car was made by their "Express" division and I have to take the problem up with them. They are the responsible party. They must take ownership of the problem and fix it. If I buy a ticket on US Airways and something happens US Airways is responsible for fixing the situation. Just because they outsourced the flight to someone else does not relieve them of any responsibility. So no, I don't believe that anyone in Tempe should be pointing out that it was Express. I think they should just take care of the people that bought tickets on US Airways!

It is funny though. Your management seems to be able to screw something up with mainline, so how they keep track of what is going on with the express carriers is beyond me. That part I will agree with. As a person who flys quite a bit and on different airlines not by choice, I can say that most domestic carriers have their problems. I think US Airways has the most though. I have never had any major issues with US employees though. Any problems with employees is a direct result of lack of proper tools to do their jobs like that wonderful computer system we always hear about.

Your point is well taken. And every day there are thousands of US Airways customers who never set foot on US Airways metal. Even if flying from southern TX to northern New England. But I do hold the press to a higher standard than John Q PUblic (silly of me, I know). And they should know - and report - as such.
