My husband said he saw something in the news about US Airways taking a group of kids to the North Pole. Sounds like the new US is doing some charity work and getting good press for a change. Does anyone have the details?

In LGA they do a Fantasy Flight for kids. They have done this for the last 26 years. I believe it was started by the Flight Attendants that worked the Eastern Shuttle and carried over to the Trump Shuttle and then US Airways. Several other stations have done similar events over the past couple of years.

How wonderful that they have done this for so many years, and what a shame it's the first I've heard of it. I would love for us to do things like this system wide. Something like a fantasy flight could be done at each base. 🙂

This has been talked about on the Hub and in the local NYC news media every year since we took over the shuttle and of course before that with Trump and Eastern.

The LGA staff puts the kids on an airplane, they are told to close their window shades and they ride around the airport. When they return, they are greeted to a decorated gate area where Santa is there to meet them. It is a great service and event.

I could be wrong, But it seems to me they did this in BOS several years ago. Or possibly I may of been passing through LGA. At any rate it still gets a big thumbs up in my book!!!
