What's new

Flt 1752 almost collides with RJ

. This sorta thing could've happened to anyone. The ATC instructions were vague at best.

You are correct. I dont know why some cast stones because anybody can make a mistake. Except AWA320. Thank God nobody was hurt. Lets stop this Monday morning quarterback crap

** If ** you are referring to me, I said in a post on the first page that this could happen to anyone AND that we don't know what the CVR tapes show as having been received in the aircraft.

** If ** you weren't referring to me, please disregard.

Where in the hell does that controller get off telling the crew that "I gave you taxi instructions" after they asked for a clarification regarding the 9L crossing clearance? That crew made a mistake, but it could have been avoided if the controller had not been such a smart a$$.

I asked PHX approach control a few weeks ago what the landing runway was since he didn't give it to me on first contact. He said, VERY sarcastically, "Its on the ATIS". Well, the ATIS said they were landing two different runways and this SOB was too good to tell me which one was for me.

We better start getting a little more cooperation around here folks or this could get very messy.

It IS ON THE ATIS and anyone should be able to figure it out.....!!!! It says almost verbatim "aircraft arriving from the north expect runway 26, aircraft arriving from the south expect runway 25L." So then you take your niffty little arrival plate and you see what your ground track will be as you arrive in the airport vicinity. If you are arriving from the North then you have 26 or 8 and the south 25L or 7R.

I also can't stand sarcastic controllers but if you listen to the atis in its entirety the answers are all there....

Edited...YV was being a Dougweiser...I apologize Barber 🙁

OK Barber..time to take ground school once again...PHL does not have a Runway 25L...They have Runway 8/26...9L & R/27L & R and the 10/35...Of course...anyone could make a simple mistake...that's why we can't afford those simple mistakes in Aviation Barber...Let's let the real pilots fly and lets stop being armchair quarterbacks.

YV, I think he is talking about PHX.
