"Thank God and Greyhound you're gone" are memorable lyrics from an old George Jones song. NW is back to placing passengers on buses. YUK!

You know, one thing I noticed about articles from television stations- they do change. That's why I try to cut and paste it and cite the source... sometimes it's interesting to see how the wording is changed.

Does anyone know how long the remainder of the trip took on the bus?
a lot longer than necessary. had scab air never gotten rid of the amfa people, useless mgmt wouldnt be having to call buses out to pick people up take them to msp to continue the trip. how many miles between the emergency landing to msp is it?

MSP-bound plane makes emergency landing

FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A Northwest Airlines flight bound for Minneapolis blew a tire after lifting off from the Grand Forks airport Wednesday and was forced to make an emergency landing here.

Northwest spokesman Dean Breest said Flight 1946 took off from Grand Forks at 8:01 a.m. The DC-9 was headed for Minneapolis with 95 passengers and five crew members, he said.

"We were taking off and we heard a loud noise and the shaking of the wheel, and we didn't hear anything for about 5 minutes," said Kelly Greenlees, a passenger from Grand Forks. "I was pretty nervous because I knew it wasn't normal."

Greenlees said the plane's captain informed passengers of the blown tire, and said the plane would head to Fargo because that airport has a longer runway, Greenlees said.

"Everybody on the plane remained pretty calm," Greenless said.

Breest said the plane landed safely in Fargo at 8:54 a.m. No one aboard was injured.

The airline planned to use a bus to shuttle passengers to Minneapolis, he said.

Greenlees said she was too shaken to continue her trip, so she planned to get a car and drive back to Grand Forks.

Gregg Rice and Barb Sluka of Roseau, Minn., were heading to Las Vegas to get married. "It's not looking real good right now," Rice said.

He said they have tickets on a later flight from Fargo to Las Vegas.

Thanks Jenny,

Cut, paste and copy is the way to go. While I spend too much time on a computer, the message board thing is fairly new.

You can take it a step further and clean it up a bit. Thanks for the story.

Apparently passenger Kelly Greenless has'nt yet spoken with NWA Management or their beloved SCAB Mechanic PTO, If He/She had then they would certainly understand this was in fact Normal.

The journalist who I would wish could write about the NW mess is the founder of Gonzo Journalism himself...Hunter S. Thompson. Unfortunately Thompson died last year and none of us is Hunter S. Thompson.

The passenger woes at NW are so far beyond normal that I'm not sure how anyone could really explain away this mess. Broken airplanes, passengers riding buses, passengers stranded in Jamaica, a passenger in a wheelchair denied a handicap seat, etc. etc. etc.

that whole area probably feels like they're being held hostage by NW.

those planes are soooooooooooooooooooooo much more dirtier compared to other airlines.

NW and the scabs probably did them a service by putting them on buses. Less chance of catching Mumps.

Err..MUMPS! I heard something about a mumps breakout as near as Iowa. I would think that any confined space such as an airplane cabin could be bad.

Clean airplanes? Let my state clearly that if you fly Eva on US/Asia routes vs NW on the same routes you will notice a huge difference. Eva's airplanes are much cleaner and they offer more large seats on their 747s. There is too the matter of avoiding a linkup (or breakdown of travel plans) in Tokyo. When I fly Eva I can avoid the entire Tokyo mess. BTW, is anyone from Iowa flying Eva? LOL

Well to hear Doug Steenland and his band of corporate bandits tell it, everything is Normal. then you have their beloved Scab who is like the former iraqi mis-information minister mouth piece coming here and saying all is well, and in fact better than before the strike or BK.
