Point taken, Chiefity-chief guy.

Speaking of WN, I can't wait to see how they handle a Pittsburgh winter, considering that their gates face north, and most locals at PIT agree that working anywhere on that side of the airport is tantamount to suicide in sub-zero temperatures, unless of course you are a hardy US employee.

Well Sir Richard will need employees in order to get it off the ground. may be he will remember that instead of having to hire off the streets, he would consider taking those employees since they already have the experience.

Sir Richard doesn't deal with unions. There is no way he will take the employees because of the union. Besides, at this point, there is that little sticking point about foreign ownership. 🙄

why would you post such bs? what's your problem dude? do you have a source to this info?
  well said My heart goes out to those folks who may have just lost a job 1 month prior to Xmas not a good feeling at all.

As to Branston and Virgin I hope the european version of a LLC never makes it out here. The likes of Ryan air and Easy Jet make WN look like a luxury 1st class. Just go to the web site of Ryan and see the fares to Europe from Europe. It should scare any USA LLC airline. ( for conversion rates a british pound is worth about $1.50 ) If you are interested I will tell you about a recent flight on Ryan LTN to CIA and how they sell a round trip revenue ticket for $25.00

FROM THE WEB

Just this once, we’re going to be like other airlines.

We’ve joined United, US Airways, Delta, Northwest and ATA who have recently been or are still operating under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. After carefully reviewing all our options, we decided that this course of action represents the best solution for Independence Air, our customers, our employees, our creditors and the communities we serve.

As a result of the Chapter 11 filing, there will be no change to today’s operations. Our flights will continue to fly as scheduled, tickets and reservations will be honored, iCLUB members will still earn points and redeem them.

Basically, the sun will come up tomorrow. It will be “business as usual†at Independence Air.

Which, as thousands of you have already discovered, is refreshingly different than “business as usual†at other airlines.

If you’ve been flying us, thank you. Please keep supporting us.

If you haven’t flown us yet, find out why we are now rated #2 in customer satisfaction in the highly regarded Market Metrix Survey.* Find out why we were ranked one of the top 5 US airlines in the Zagat 2005 US Airline Survey. Find out why we were rated in the Top 3 of US Airlines in Travel + Leisure’s Annual World’s Best Awards. Find out why we were one of only two airlines to win an Extra Mile Award from Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel Magazine. Find out why we made the Reader’s Choice Top-10 list of US Airlines in Condé Nast Traveler.

Find out how low fares, Tender Loving ServiceSM and a willingness to challenge the status quo turn customers into fans every day.

I'm sure they are nothing like the MHT and PVD and ISP and MDW and CLE winters, which LUV has seemed to survive for a few years now.

I gave this topic time to see if any actual proof would show. I gather that since no proof was offered I can act on the basis that this topic was flame-bait and of no conversational value.

Topic is closed. I thank everyone for their patience.
