They really shouldn't let Biden out of his cage..

Airlines upset with Biden’s suggestion to avoid air travel because of flu

Airlines are upset with Vice President Joseph Biden’s suggestion Thursday to avoid air travel and mass transit systems, and to not visit places impacted by the H1N1 swine flu.

On NBC’s “Todayâ€￾ show, Biden said he had told his family to avoid air travel and to take other precautions.

White House issued a retraction. Jeez imagine if he was prez.

Its funny this happened......just the other day I was wondering where Biden has been.I thought maybe they locked him down in the situation room....then today 'BINGO'....

this will be the day when to worry....

when our Sun expands beyond the orbit of Mars ..becoming a huge red giant star and eventually collapsing in on itself.. in several billions years, then there is a problem.

until then....

life goes on, life will move on like it always has.. it has too..

take precautions first by taking care of your self by washing your hands with warm soap and water(and do not touch your face) and for goodness sakes people... get a grip.

how many people die from the flu yearly? about 30 to 40 thousand.

yes its a different strain, yes its something to be concerned about but to become so paranoid people cannot function,

well you arent living to begin with....

turn off the tv those drama based reporters are just making it worse...

I seem to recall FA's whining about being confined in a sealed tube with all these sick people and the government/airline does nothing to address the issue.

Can't win with you people.

requesting to have gloves for trash pick up is not my definition of whining... (thats just common sense everyday)

Yea, that's all that was complained about. That the story you want to stick with? I was in crew skd for 8 years .. I know for a fact that there are far more complaints.

well of course more was probably complained about and I am sure...the 'schedulers' themselves were some of the major complaints at the top of the list.

spin it however you wish but it was a stupid uninformed statement from a person in his position

Not sure why. We worked according to the contract. If we violated the contract we were pay claimed. There is no free will.

Regardless, Fort Worth just shut down the entire school district. The reasoning being they wanted to keep the kids from getting together (human to human contact ... kind of like a plane huh?) so what did some of the parents do? They set up a team sport game where 30 or 40 kids and they families all congregated together.

What happens when someone is identified getting off a plane who had swine flue and contaminated someone else on the plane? Personally I think shutting down the schools is a bit over the top, unless of course they did not and my kid got swine flu from some other kid who just got back from MX visiting some relatives or just got back from VC. Then it would have seemed like a very good idea. Sure the Airlines might take a hit, but how much is a human life worth?

Spin it how ever you like, but what ever is/isn't done is a damn if you do damn if you don't situation.

oh of course they follow it to the letter! ...no stunts either! EVER!

closing down a school to wash down the facilities where children attend I sort of can understand..
children who are sick should also stay home.

its called life, you have to deal with it the best you can. as long as people are aware and necessary precautions are in place then what else can you do? put a bubble around your house and peek out from time to time it see if its all clear?

living life is a risk.. but believe me I totally understand what you are getting at.

there will always be some sort of crisis happening somewhere in the world (there have been in the past and will again in the future) this is just another one to deal with..and it will be dealt with and then move forward..because that is how life operates.

Yes, it was an idiotic comment.

Absolutely nothing good can come of what he said.

There is no way his handlers, or the spin team, can undo a momentary lapse of stupid.

I never did and I do not know of others who did so intentionally. Our contracts were dog eared and worn out for a reason.

hopefully this all will resolve it self soon and our "elected officials" actually await real information instead of giving unwarranted recommendations at this time and focus on real precautions instead of their two cents.

cover your nose/mouth when coughing or sneezing.
wash your hands with soap and warm water.
increase your diet to more vegetables fruits and grains reducing red meats and processed foods.. so your body is in more of an alkaline state instead of acidic.
stay home if sick.
take one multivitamin a day.
flu season happens every year.

live your life.
