Care to back up your LIES with cold hard facts? Unless you can-anything you say is completely irrelevant. We've only merged with Chicago & Southern, Northeast, and Western. They all got raises with their seniority-and I never heard any of them complaining. We bought Pan Am ASSETS, and offered SOME of their F/A's jobs. Even they got SOME seniority, which I believe is better than being unemployed. And, I'm sorry you are too dense to understand this, because it's been talked about ad nauseum, but AFA bylaws state DATE OF HIRE. So, get off the DL board, and go spew your negativity soemwhere else. We don't need it here!
😉 😉 U dont BELONG TO A UNION - plain and simple- AFA's bylaws speak to airlines with U N I O N S...Go get one and then get back to us, and btw, when ur nasty mean spirited kool-aid DELTIOD drinkers get off the US board we will do the same!!!

Ummm NYCDELTA - get your facts straight hon... AFA bylaws state DOH if you merge with another AFA carrier.. if not then it is fair game... yes USAIR has been very considerate with giving DOH even when they dont have to.. but dont be so sure that they will when you are flapping those southern jaws about your fabulous airline - ( not so much) And it looks like DAL is going to be no longer soon.. so i would get out that patch kit and put on your landing lips and get ready to mend some fences and kiss some ARSE b/c you are going to need it...

you sound as pathetic as a tute on 42nd.

I know DL FA's would be treated fairly because they are a much larger group than the combined US/AWA FA's. Add to that the fact that 99% of US FA's are good, down to earth people who just want to make a living. In the unlikely event they were not treated well, can you imagine how your group would be treated by the much larger DL pilot group?

YOu are right - they have always gave everyone their DOH as they should in a MERGER.. However this is an all out BUYOUT not a merger --- both sides do not want this... It is not an agreed to MERGER by both managements.. Therefore if you are bought and have been brutally nasty, then dont underestimate the girls in philly, and the pilots are the least of F/As concern - we are the ones that let them out to go to the bathroom the ones that make their food and drink etc.. if they want to be nasty let the games begin...But you are right on track 757 - I like thaattitude... you should teach those deltoids a thing or two.

That doesnt make a rats arse differnce as well - it doesnt matter which group is larger... they will go union either way or chaos will happen.. dont forget about all the timess AFA tried to get DAL to join. and you think it is right that deltoids get the benefit of a union without ever paying a union due... not hardly

Buyout or merger makes no difference from a financial standpoint. The smaller company is simply absorbed by the much larger company. Any other way makes no sense and will increase costs. You may even see the AFA decertified after a merger with a larger non-union group. You never know.

Anyway, after mid-Feb,when the idea dies, we won't have to worry about this anymore and hopefully our respective companies can get on with business. It will have been 3 wasted months on both sides while others companies have moved forward.

NYC Delta,

You will have to excuse some of the US employees on here, they seem to forget that not so long ago, we were at deaths door and things looked quite unsure, if not bleak. Funny how we forget that...... If (*IF*) the merger goes thru, DL FA's will get their seniority. Period. Call it a buyout, an acquisition, a merger, whatever you want to, it will be done fairly.

These people from US that are yelling at you to go get a union (??) are the same ones here that complain that the Union does nothing for us, sold us down the river, etc. Ya haveta laugh........

Obviously, by the way they are acting, a few US employees are painfully jealous of your route structure and flying. Understand that this board does not represent an accurate cross section of any work group at any airline, and should be read, for the most part, for entertainment purposes only.

Now, that said, together or seperate, let's hope it works out for all involved. Good luck.

ahh hhhhaaaaaaaa that is hilarious... I am so jealous of the BK Delta - you are such a jokester - i love it

No, sweetie, get YOUR facts straight. If you go to AFANET.org, and read for yourself (if you are able to), it states that AFA provides for date of hire in any merger with an AFA or Non-AFA carrier-period. And, besides a merger with UAL, we would be the bigger workgroup, so we all would have to vote to continue with AFA, or any other union for that matter. Once again-this has been talked about at least a dozen times. Once again-you have no idea what you're saying. You make flight attendants look really stupid. Now fly away back to the US board before someone drops a house on you too!

But you didn't answer my question. Where are the FACTS about how poorly we treated others that we merged with? Again, I'll refer you and anyone else who's interested to get the FACTS before spewing such rubbish. You sound like an idiot. All the these FACTS can be found in the AFA bylaws under "mergers". Additionally, if DL and US merge, we may have NO UNION if we don't get a majority vote. And I can guarantee that any union that wants to represent the 14000+ flight attendants of the "new" Delta, will ensure DOH.

Thanks, and I agree. NONE of my friends at US or HP even gives a rat's *ss about any of this crap. As long as they get paid-that's fine with them. I just can't stand flight attendants who say such ridiculous things, because they make us all look foolish and uneducated.

It's true that Parker wants 767's for Intl. use. Delta is flying 767-300's domestically, and they sit overnight in cities like Charlie south and FLL. I have seen them. But come on, he wouldn't get the banks to throw in billions of dollars for a couple dozen jets. That's just plain silly. There is a sense to this- I am assuming - that investment bankers and Bethune as well as early Justice reviewers are aware of but we are not due to anti-trust. Hopefully it will make sense to all of us.

What Delta has been doing as part of there stand alone plan is to take the wide bodies that had been flying in low yeild markets like FLL-ATL and move them to international service with higher yields. This is why they were able to grow trans atlantic so fast and also why you have been seeing there yeilds increase.

No, sweetie, get YOUR facts straight. If you go to AFANET.org,

READ THIS you uneducated TWIT!!!

SECTION X

MERGER POLICY AND RELATED EMPLOYEE

PROTECTIVE PROVISIONS

A. Scope and Purpose

The fundamental scope and purpose of this policy is to provide protection for the employment rights of flight attendants. This policy shall be applicable when two or more AFA-CWA-represented carriers engage in any merger, consolidation, acquisition of control, purchase, sale, lease or other similar transactions or arrangement between or among them, involving their previously separate airline operations or services previously performed by them as separate airlines, in a manner that may affect the seniority rights of the flight attendants (all hereafter referred to as "merger" for purposes of this policy).

Go take your reading glasses and get them checked... It says when two or more AFA CWA CARRIERS ARE REPRESENTED... AND YOU ARE NOT AFA>>><<<

IF this Delta merger takes place, you can expect date-of-hire to resonate across every major work group,(basically all of them),unionized or not.

DOH would be the standard, IF this proceeds.

If you read further down the page (Section J):

J. Merger with Non-AFA-CWA Carrier

1. In the event of merger with an airline where the flight attendants are not then represented by AFA-CWA, the International President shall convene the Master Executive Council of the AFA-CWA carrier at an appropriate time after learning of management action to effect a merger, through agreement, notification to a government agency or otherwise. The functions of such meeting shall include briefing and orienting the participants on merger-related matters and commencing a program in conjunction with the International Office for the protection of the employment rights of the AFA-CWA flight attendants, protecting AFA-CWA representation, and organizing and related activities for the purpose of assuring AFA-CWA representation on the merged carrier. The meeting shall include a review of AFA-CWA merger and organizing policies.

2. Seniority integration with a non-AFA-CWA carrier shall, to the extent legally possible, be accomplished by compiling an integrated seniority list in the same manner as provided for seniority integration between flight attendants on AFA-CWA carriers.

As I've stated before, none of us has any say in any of this. But you seem to revel in the thought of other's misfortune, which just shows the type of person you are. You've proven by your asinine statements that you are an idiot as well as a moron. Stick to serving Cokes; you have yet to prove you have enough brain power to do anything else.
