With tickets this cheap and flights this comfortable, even our fine, feathered friends might consider hopping on a plane to get to their favorite destination. Beginning today, Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) is offering fares as low as *$54 each way to 20 U.S. cities.

Why fly with the rest of the flock when Frontier offers great amenities such as 24 channels of DIRECTV, pay-per-view movies, 33 inches of legroom and Denver's youngest fleet. To avoid the potential influx of geese, robins and swallows, human passengers will want to book quickly (and of course, reserve their seats in advance). For travel to all destinations, tickets must be purchased by Feb. 9, 2006, at 10 p.m. MST. Fares are available for travel to/from Denver through March 29, 2006. Round-trip, seven-day advance purchase is required for U.S. travel*. Passengers who purchase tickets on Frontier's Web site -- http://www.frontierairlines.com -- will earn 1,000 bonus miles in Frontier's EarlyReturns program.

Looks like Frontier's sale undercuts SWA by about $5. From the sound of the advertising text I guess you'll be using that money to get your shoes shined after walking through all the bird droppings inside their airplanes!

I wish Frontier well ... just not too well! :D
