It looks like TSH wins this time with the closest pick of DTW, after the latest NWA emergency landing at MBS...

THE SAGINAW NEWS
A Northwest Airlines jet headed to Detroit from Green Bay with 66 passengers made an emergency landing at MBS International Airport in Tittabawassee Township on Friday morning.

One of the three generators on the DC-9 shorted out before 10 a.m., and the pilot took precautionary measures because of inclement weather in Detroit.

Crews at MBS had Flight 1498 back on course in about an hour. Spooked by the electrical problem, roughly half of the fliers switched to Flight 1571 from Saginaw to Detroit, a company spokesman said.

I'll take MIA with an engine failure next round.
 
Just another day of harried travel for the nwa flyer.
My next bet will be JFK, smoke in cabin/cockpit.

With the recent occurances of "normal" emergency landings, aborted takeoffs, diversions, etc. that NWA has encountered in the past few weeks, I thought that it would be a good idea for someone to start a thread in which we could speculate where the next "incident" will happen.

Here's the guidelines for this contest:

1) pick the airport where you think the incident will occur,

2) the person who's location is closest to the actual incident location is the winner.

That's it!

The only prize that the winner will receive is the satisfaction of knowing that they were not on that flight! 😀

Since I started the thread, I will make the first guess...

how about an old ww2 airbase called walla walla for an old scarpped Metal Junker with engine problems
 
Still giddy from my first win, I'll head back west for some NWA style fun out of PDX. :shock:

BTW, I was gonna Double-Down and pick DTW again but Jenny beat me to it. <_<
 
I'll take SUX this time around...besides, it kinda sums up NW's maintenance lately! :lol:
