Pilot was talking about slide deployments and scabs when he started talking about how he noticed a guy fixing the door with a screwdriver-
He was hitting the door with it, and the pilot told him politely that what he is doing is going to deploy the chute.

The mechanic (er, scabanic) said "You do YOUR job and I'll do mine"

And then still proceeded to bang on the door with the screwdriver.

Then it happens....

The slide deployed in the jetway during boarding, pinning some people in the jetway.

And so- in this scab's infinate wisdom take the screwdriver and stabs the slide.....

   Pilot told me he witnessed this first-hand

It's a new day!

Dumb question here...If the door is open for boarding, how does the slide "pop?"

I wonder how long before one of the pinned passengers sues?

Another shining moment for NWA.

But, hey, it's "a new day at NWA."

Yeah I wondered that myself. This was from a DC9 pilot.
Note the SPIL said "SLIDES deployed involving maintenance techs"?
wow. I'm....shocked.

Sorry to disappoint you Hackman but it wasn't me, nor anyone else for that matter. As of late I have been rebuilding the wingtips and ailerons on a Stearman that was ground looped to the left then to the right on the next landing, some people have too much money. I have also been working on a Beech G-18 doing some light sheetmetal work and installing a JPI engine monitoring system, another guy with too much money that has a fetish for gadgets.

In the event that I ever do deploy a slide, I will be sure that you are the first to know.

Just curious, how many slides were deployed at AA last year? My guess would be forty with your name on one of them.

Did I mention I work Monday thru Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm? Ya gotta love them weekends off.

  That's real cute coming from a disgruntled F/A such as yourself.

weekends, concessions and unhappiness... brought to you by the labor movement.

I think we should scratch weekends off the list. What do you think?

"What do you think" ?

I think you are a FILTHY..RANCID..PUSS-OOZING..INFECTION, of a SCAB. 😛h34r: 😛h34r: 😛h34r:

MAGGOTS at the bottom of a SWILL BUCKET, are above YOU, and your kind.

Don't be so timid. Speak up and say what you really think of him.

Sounds like a fish story to me.
I have pix....it may not be of this one, but it is of a recent SCAB slide deployment.

Gee, and I supposse a UNIONIZED airline worker (mechanic, FA, pilot, etc.) have never, would have never, EVER, done anything similar or stupid.
Good grief - move on with your life. Get over it. All that posts like this do is start a pissing contest between PTO and union-lovers.

a unionized worker has much more skills to fix the slide door than a POS scab

a unionized worker has much more skills to fix the slide door than a POS scab

Show me the data.

How much skill(s) do you need to fix the slide that has been accidently deployed? Can a monkey do it? Can a passanger do it in exchange for a travel voucher or free upgrade? If a scab can do it and a unionized worker can do it then it means their skill(s) are equal. If you can show me that a unionized worker can fix it in 1/2 the time, chatting on the cell phone and groping a FA at the same time, then yes, he's more skillful. Otherwise posts like this only lead to meaningless arguements between 'scabs' like PTO and 'communist' union lovers. 🙂

Wow, I guess we should all just thank our stars that we you, the voice of reason, to save us all from ourselves.

Spare us your tired union cliche ridden drivel.
