Cheney had some "closed door hearings" for his "energy task force"...and oddly enough, we end up in a war smack dab over the second largest oil reserves in the world. Inquiring minds want to know if those closed door hearings had anything to do with invading Iraq.

So....with American's love affair with the SUV, it's worth a Serviceman's life to keep the gas price affordable rather than downsize the vehicle? Wait...that involves sacrifice, and if there's one thing the Bush administration is careful to avoid asking American's to do is sacrifice. Other than shopping. Heck...they'll even cut you a check to go on a springtime shopping spree.

Okay...simple math....SUV most popular vehicle on American roads. Average SUV gets about 15 mpg (I'm being liberal here). HAd we diverted half the useage of all that oil into the manufacturing of other things, wouldn't we be in better shape? For that matter, since America has lost so many manufacturing jobs to other countries, does it really matter?
