I am looking forward to reading his book, but I have a feeling that his book will be as ambiguous as his comments on the state of the economy.

However, his opinion on Bush seems clear and unambiguous: “My biggest frustration remained the president’s unwillingness to wield his veto against out-of-control spending." “Not exercising the veto power became a hallmark of the Bush presidency . . . To my mind, Bush’s collaborate-don’t-confront approach was a major mistake.â€￾

And not to leave anyone out, Greenspan has a few words for the dems too: "The next administration may have the Clinton administration name but the Democratic Party...has moved...very significantly in the wrong direction," he said, referring to the Democratic Party's populist bent, especially its skepticism of free trade.

Sure it is. It could never have anything to do with Congress/POTUS having out of control spending habits huh?

I guess the past 6 years have sown us that the concept of "fiscally responsible" republican is somewhat of a misnomer. As Greenspan said, you had a Rep POTUS who did not have the balls/charachter to stand up to a out of control Congress and the result has been the current mess we are in.
