I can only imagine what that little piece of hard ware would cost.

Same idea but not quite the same execution. I drove in one on a closed course. Car stayed damn near flat in curves and virtually no squat/dive on acceleration/deceleration. Car also drove smooth as a babies bottom on rough surface. Very impressive.

Agree with all you said.

Have you tried shotgunning a new vehicle lately? That is really expensive.

When you're the one footing the bill shot gunning seems like less of a good idea. 😉

One place I've found that can be helpful are the message boards on sites for a particular make of car. Of course you have to figure out who knows what they are talking about and who is blowing smoke. I had one particular problem with my car that I found the answer for on a message board. Total cost, $40 for the part.

On the flip side I had one problem where nothing anyone said on the board ended up being the problem. I had a friend hook up his code reader to my car and got the codes for it. One of the parts faulted ended up having nothing wrong with it. I figured this out after spending $30 bucks on the part.

Realizing it was going to get expensive I swallowed my pride and took it to the dealership. Thinking that they would figure it out quick and I would save money. Unfortunately all they seemed interested in doing was throwing parts at it. If I had gone with what they recommended I would have spent close to $1000 and still have the same problem. Having lost my patience I drove an hour and a half too a mechanic I knew I could trust. He figured out the problem and it only cost me a fraction of what the dealer was going to charge.

My neighbor had 3 MGB's and 2 Fiat's. He could only keep one on the road at any given time.

FIAT-Fix It Again Tony.

Your nieghboors MGB was probably full of Lucas parts, which would expalin why they were driveway ornaments.

I think he owned them so he could always have something to do outside...away from his wife. 😱

With three MGB and two Fiat's in the driveway that would be enough to keep him outside 24/7. 😉

In Austria in the 1980's FIAT's were refered to as "Fehler in allen teile". Which in German means "Error In All Parts". Just a little piece of automotive lore.
