Every year with the old Usairways the company would offer 2 space positive award to those employees who did not miss their shifts for the holiday period from thanksgiving to new years .
Was wondering if I miss any announcement that was made and if not announcement was made by the new Usairways can we give old AL a call.

Maybe next year they can bring back the cheese or cake

Maybe I missed the announcement for years, but I thought the 'holiday rewards' was offered for the first time last year as management's 'plan' to ensure a smooth operation during the 2004 holiday season.....

Buyer beware! Last year's program had a dark hole I feel through RULES...You had to sign up for the program (no problem, did it in crew room)....You had to print out a copy of your signed agreement (problem copy machine in crew room broken)I validate this with Andrew at crew service desk, I'm not the first to complain. So I work my schedule. Make myself available for xmas day. Don't call in sick from Dec - Jan. The holiday list comes out on Thehub and I'm not there 🙁 I contact Andrew at crew service desk "remember", he says lots of complaints on this one, call your super. I do and she says we are working on it. Bottom line too bad for me. ? Why would we need to sign up for a program if you've qualified by following the rules? It should have been simple.

On the other hand. I was pleasently surprized when I got a letter in the mail with two thank you tickets for showing up to help with the baggage melt down. (no contract needed)

actually before those employees who did not miss their shift their name went in a pot and x amount of names were drawn and those employees got the travel related stuff

last year was the first time it was offered to everyone

Putting the names in a hat is a good idea but.......expecting rewards and wanting an incentive to work your scheduled shifts over the holidays? Seems kind of unprofessional. The schedule is what the schedule is.

Each qualifying individual recieved passes. Then all employees who recieved passess were put in a hat and additional prizes were given to the winners being drawn.

Management panicked because new contract stated if you did'nt use your sick by Dec 04 you would loss it by reduced value in 06. And remember deptments were already understaffed anyway. Employee groups had already taken substancial paycuts-some $1,000 per pay check, in addition to losing vacation days. The incentive holiday package was a hope a mitigating the "nightmare at christmas".
Understaffing is understaffing. Many many employees picked up extra shifts but understaffing is understaffing.

correction: lose it in 05'.

That's a nice incentive and an extra bonus......I agree.

On the west side, non union, it's always been that way.....if you don't use your sick time by the end of the year, it doesn't roll over. And I'm sure there are some that will use all that is alloted just because it doesn't roll over, but that's a small majority in my opinion.

Kind of funny (and I'm being sarcastic) how management panicked.......they signed on the dotted line as well.

I'm hoping that it all goes extremely well this year. Best of luck to everyone.

on the contrary unprofessional ..most industries gives out bonuses at the end of the year.
Actually incentives is a bad word to use it should be rewards or bonus

From someone who was required to work Express alone in the rain Xmas day on the first 1/2 of my 16 hour day, and then forced to work mainline alone at my gate the second half of the day, it was much appreciated. I just used one of the tickets to get to/from a nice relaxing Caribbean cruise. Not sure if I would sign up for the working alone on Xmas part of it, but it was a nice bonus for the "shortcomings" of last holiday season.
And I got all the "free cheese" I could eat on the cruise and it was fresh! 😉
