Going down?

Just 24% give the president favorable ratings of his performance in handling the war in Iraq, but confidence in Congress is significantly worse – only 3% give Congress positive marks for how it has handled the war. This lack of confidence in Congress cuts across all ideologies. Democrats – some of whom had hoped the now Democrat-led Congress would bring an end to the war in Iraq – expressed overwhelming displeasure with how Congress has handled the war, with 94% giving Congress a negative rating in its handling specifically of that issue.

Dem's resort to underhanded moves.

Republicans walked out on a House vote late Thursday night to protest what they believed to be Democratic maneuvers to reverse an unfavorable outcome for them.

The flap represents a complete breakdown in parliamentary procedure and a distinct low for the sometimes bitterly divided chamber because members of one party have rarely, if ever, walked off the floor without casting a vote.

The rancor erupted shortly before 11 p.m. as Rep. Michael R. McNulty (D-N.Y.) gaveled close the vote on a standard procedural measure with the outcome still in doubt.

Details remain fuzzy, but numerous Republicans argued afterward that they had secured a 215-213 win on their motion to bar undocumented immigrants from receiving any federal funds apportioned in the agricultural spending bill for employment or rental assistance. Democrats, however, argued the measure was deadlocked at 214-214 and failed, members and aides on both sides of the aisle said afterward.

Faith in those elected has become quite disillusioned no matter who you like.

And our senators and congressmen wonder why people have more trust in their garbagemen then the Senate and Congress.
Its too bad the Supreme Court struck down term limits, I for one am a proponent for term limits, give them 2 terms, 1 term in office and 1 term in prison.

I already explained it in another thread...guess too much reality made you run from that one and start a new one...pretending that the other thread never happened.

Cut and run? 😱

So 'W' is the fault for the HISTORICAL low in Congress?

Your not only an idiot, but an ace to boot!

while 76% disapprove...

Funny how Bushie can get his way by telling Congress they won't get to go home.
...🙁

Funny you are, my friend.......I believe you are wrong now in two threads........Now lets not take one of those hissy fits you are

noted for...

Hilarious. You try your swift boat tactics b/c you've lost yet again. You think that by posting that I am "wrong" (in two threads? I haven't even counted one) makes it truth? Just b/c you state something doesn't make it the truth. And even moreso...coming from you it probably isn't as you've proven that you are off base time and time again...and then run when the real truth is pointed out...or try this tactic. But at least you said that you "believe" is was wrong.

So back to the approval ratings mess that you can't seem to refute with anything other than a picture (that must be you b/c you are the one crying and with no argument whatsoever)...

...of course Bush is responsible for the approval ratings. He has created a swamp in Congress by either threatening to veto EVERYTHING or adding enough nonsense to his signing statements that it is essentially a presidential filibuster. Now...I would agree with you 100% that Congress was actually responsible for its approval ratings if they were, in fact, not offering or trying to push any legislation. They have, in fact, introduced plenty but Bush continues to play a "partisanship over leadership" approach and is deadlocking any progress. When you have an idiot president that is vowing to say "no" just for the sake of it...how can you get anything done?

Go back to your hole, Dell. Since you cannot comment with any facts or sound logic (or ANY logic) I'm sure you'll try a quip again. But it was quite humurous that you went the way of the swift boaters and thought that by saying something that would make it true. You are a funny boy.

Now here comes a guy who learned from all the tactics the Dem's played and now you cry foul....well Waa Waa Waa.
Congress has failed because they do not have the will of the people behind their perverted agenda....your polls tell the tale

Swift boat worked for Kerry now didn't it

You are wrong again.....wrong...wrong.. 😱

Go back to your hole, Dell.

Yup...the Dems are telling Bush what to do, aren't they? Sorry...his tactics are all his own (well Rove and Cheney's). Funny thing is that your little polls show that the people ARE behind the ideas pushed by the dems...they are fed up b/c Congress is getting nowhere. It would help if you stepped back into reality-land every now and then.

And that is too bad that Kerry was derailed by every minute tactic of the GOP. Just look at those two campaigns to tell me which party was fighting it in the gutter. The gutter is the only thing that saved Bushie for term #2. He couldn't win it on his own merit.

Dem Congress is unwilling to do anything to piss off the voters and hurt even remotely any chance of the White House.....thats why they have backed off their agenda much to the chagrin of moveon.org......even to the point of pissing off Soros and company and future backing...its in the media if you have half a brain and know how to search.

At issue is the most mysterious of the Clinton scandals: discovery at the White House of more than 900 secret FBI personnel files, including dossiers of prominent Republicans. For more than six months, Lamberth has had on his desk requests for sworn testimony by two people--a former White House aide's ex-wife who claims Hillary Rodham Clinton was associated with the files affair, and Mrs. Clinton herself. Lawyers familiar with Lamberth's court believe his decision is imminent.

Kiss my butt.....

bravo! another unsubstantiated post with a side bonus of "your guy supposedly did it so my guy can do it 20-fold". Like others have pointed out...why use Clinton as a defense when you hate everything he stood for? Seems you have no defense, as always. And sure I can find items in the "media" saying that Congress is not living up to their word. Comes right up when i google "Rush", "Ann Coulter", of "Beck".

Only legislation that Congress can get passed through is that which it was forced to do with a threat of being held hostage in session.

You need to grow up a little, my friend. It is your approach to issues (i.e. run from them, use unsubstantiated information, or try to throw a topic off its course by either curving away or using your "i know you are but what am i" approach) that demeans your party's arguments more than anything.

Actually, W could not win his first term on his own merit. Go back an look at what he and Rove did to McCain in S. Carolina. W is an embarrassment too this country. He has been since his first day in office and will be till his last day. The only good thing he may have done is to expose the christian extremist and show how intertwined they are in the republican party. Perhaps when they leave office, the real conservatives will come back out and take back their party. As it stands, they voted in a bastard who virtually destroyed all that they had built up over the past 10+ years since they took over Congress.

Dell,

When is the last time a sitting president has been attacked by his own party in the manner that W is? When is the last time a sitting president has not been asked to stump for a single presidential candidate? When is the last time a sitting president has been attacked by nearly every candidate from his own party? When is the last time a sitting president has had so many people from his Admin resign under a cloud of controversy? W has managed to alienate his own party and the rest of the world in less than 6 years.

We all know that politics is a dirty business and that ALL politicians lie through their teeth nearly every time they open their mouth. W has taken it to a level that we have not seen before. There is an arrogance, a "I am above the law" mentality that is destroying this country from with in.

You attempt to put it on Bushie but neglect to acknowledge the fact that there is a very potent GOP minority in the Senate that has kept them from passing legislation on issues such as immigration and an Iraq withdrawal plan among other issues.

I am on record supporting Clinton in some areas....I don't agree with all of Bush's agenda either. :bleh:

This is quite entertaining and funny....If this isn't the pot calling the kettle black,I just don't know.Of course when you do it its ok....LOL

You better check your facts my friend....moveon.org was dictating to the New Kids on the block in congress what their agenda was going to be and threatened retribution.....which may be forthcoming as congress backed off their agenda somewhat when polling indicated they were alienating the electorate with the same old crap as the last time the Dems were in charge and to me and many others it seems like nothing has changed Dem-wise.

The Rush and Coulter references are quite amusing....to me Ann has chicken legs and an alley mouth...Rush...he's ok from time to time but has a personal agenda also.Beck....his CNN gig is nice but I don't usually watch him...so you missed the boat big time with your little mental picture of me and who I am.....I know one thing though...I know a Republican hating dyed in the wool Liberal when I come across one....

Have a nice Conservative day my Liberal friend.. B)

Your pal,

Dell
