How To Use The Ignore Function?

How does one use the "ignore" function and where is it to be found? Lately I have noticed that the board seems to be replete with the base and crass postings of the odious and noisome Monsieur Poisson. Someone mentioned that there is an ingore function that would keep these missives from view. How does it work?

Ukridge:

To ignore a user, you simple click on his underscored name and a list will appear. You click on "ingnore user". He/she will be gone from view until you turn "ignore" off.

Henry angrily clicked on his managers name on the list, hit "ignore user" -- and his manager was gone !!
