To the people working in benefits:

YOU SUCK YOU SUCK YOU SUCK.....

My better half was informed that her medical was being moved to the COBRA program since she has been out of work 4 months on an OJI. No big deal, she called benefits 4 times requesting that they fax my employer a letter stating the last day of her company coverage so she may be picked up on by medical. The first yoyo she talked to said since the merger everything is a mess, the second said, "I will fax the letter after your company benefits terminate", the other two said they would get right on it, no such luck. So what could happen if she is not covered for a few days, hopefully nothing, wrong, the day after benefits terminate she takes a fall down the stairs and gets beat up pretty good. She refuses to seek medical care because she does'nt want to get saddled with a large bill.

If they would have only taken 5 minutes to send a fax there would be no problem...So to all you assholes working in Benefits, you all suck.
 
Sounds typical from what I've experienced so far.
Have you finally got it straightened out? If not (and even if you have) I would write douglas.parker@usairways.com
I'm sure he is aware how efficient the benefits department is, but you should still let him know again. It might be the "final straw" that gets someone to actually get benefits in line. If they are working with as great a system as the rest of us, I can understand why they are like they are.
 
I would keep it well documented and I would recommend that more people call your local Labor Department about these issues...maybe that will wake them up.
