US Airways said Tuesday it is cutting another 318 jobs in Charlotte, part of an aircraft-maintenance shuffle that is eliminating about 1,800 positions nationwide.

The Charlotte cuts come in addition to the 150 maintenance jobs the airline told the Observer it was cutting last week, meaning that Charlotte will lose roughly one-third of its maintenance-related positions.

In contrast, Pittsburgh, home to US Airways' other major maintenance base, is losing about 800 jobs, or more than half of its maintenance-related positions.

Inspectors in 1&2 report to hangar 5 tomorrow Feb 4th .

Furloughs handed out around Feb, 20th

Furloughed employees gone by Mar. 28th.

700 did nothing wrong and in fact takes heat for doing his job, a thankless job that it is.

Nothing happened to cavalier. I am cavalier using my buddies account because cavalier was banned till late 2005, then deano came on, “me againâ€￾ but I decided I wasn't going to pay fees when I, cavalier was around too long. My buddy who is also a U mechanic soon to get the ax let me use his account. I am being a good boy. I wonder what happened to AOG-N-IT, he left last March. Probably like me left the company but unlike me never looked back, good for him.
