Don't worry us fli boi, your suffering here will be over soon. It will be ch 7 by the end of the month. You just can't come to grips with the fact that if the IAM goes, so does everyone else.
After that, you and your significant other at UAL can start a new life together. With all those skills you have amassed searving coffee, tea, whatever, Denny's or Cracker Barrel would snap you right up.

Thanks kindly for being so willing to pull the plug.

This is from someone who thinks that you all should be willing to work for free to make sure that the stockholders see a ROI.

He insinuates that he is not in it for the money and that those that are, are not "worth a damn".

Must have been born with a silver spoon in his mouth if he doesnt work for the money, or have a sugar mama looking after him.

A320 and I often disagree, but I'll stick up for him here. By the time a person gets all the licenses/ratings and builds enough flight time to get one of the "high paid" jobs with a major carrier they could have become a doctor or lawyer (and make as much or more, be home nights/weekends, etc).

Most pilots pursue a career in aviation because they love flying airplanes. That a relatively small percentage ultimately earn a pretty nice income doing it is a bonus for them. Anyone contemplating becoming a pilot strictly for the money is crazy, more than likely going to be disappointed, and apt to seek employment in another field after the first "long hours/low pay" job they get.

I never said anyone should work for free. The few guys I work with that came here for the money are truly miserable people. Makes for a long trip.

In the twenty years that I spent at USAir I saw very few pilots talking excitedly about flying. In fact most of the time they were talking about their other part time businesses or their houses in FLORIDA or their sports cars. Oh I forgot about their exwives and current F/A wives.

Old, old joke:

When pilots are at work they talk about everything but flying. When they're off, all they talk about is flying.
