The "BUZZ" system briefing today stated the Iberia has broken off its interline ticketing and baggage agreement with US Airways. (Along with the nonrev agreement). Anyone have any idea what happened? Call me jaundiced but I would not be surprised if US did something to trigger this. I have no idea what, however. US did get into a spat the AF over reroute settlements a few years ago, but the interline agreement was never broken off.

that's because the interline dept was ran by folks who spent more time abroad than in CCY.

There were only *2* people from CCY that came to Tempe with the assimilation, everyone else was new to US's cache of interline agreements & partnerships.

In fact, not sure if it matters, but the merger indirectly caused Caribbean Sun & Star to fail - and is causing issues at WinAir. All 3 of those airlines custom taylored schedules to maximize connecting opportunities out of SJU/SXM, once the department moved to Tempe, new policies & procedures were put into place, and those relationships have fizzled compared to what they were before.

And if no one believes me, when the PHL-SJU A330 actually operated on time, on the average, close to 100 customers were connecting to the Go Caribbean! Network partners... that number has dwindled down to 20 or so.

For Iberia to say no to everything could be the fact they don't want to pay the associated fees with going to Interline E-ticketing with the "new" USAirways.
