Incident: US Airways A333 over Atlantic on Nov 17th 2009, computer issues

The flight returned to PHL after a bit more than two hours enroute.

Not sure what the issue was but the aircraft departed for MAD with the same crew just more than two hours after arriving in PHL and arrived in MAD without incident.

Much ado about well, almost nothing. Airbus has several different flight control computers that overlap duties (redundant). Even if the aircraft failed into alternate law, it was ok for flight. The flight can continue to diversion safely in alternate law. Usually the replacement of a FAC computer or a SEC computer is all that is needed.
