37 "Interior" Mechanics on the bid board for PHL this week.

There ya go, and so it begins. They should be able to help you guys in PHL "Get-R-Dun".

Oh, and by the way.............

Thanks for your 'Yes' vote.

Interior jobs? Sounds like third shift! Don't think there will be many biders. If they do manage to get this crew up and running watch out, the NEF file is going to go through the roof. NO PARTS! Buy stock in a paper or paper supply company the deferal's from station to station will eat a forest in no time. Sorry, if your not in maintenance your saying WHAT THE HECK IS THIS IDIOT SAYING? But those of us that will have to deal with this know all to well HERE COMES ANOTHER FINE MESS.

Can anyone tell me the pay scale or rate that the interior mechanic are to be paid? That is if they were stock clerk or utility, America West; what will their pay be? 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱

Them bids got canx. No money to spend on interiors all going for gas!

In Phx they will be at mechanic rate but will not receive any license premiums

Interior mechanics pay is the same as all mechanics (line, gse, shop, plant maint, welder, etc)..... but they will not get paid for there tickets. A&P = $3 per hr

WHY ARE WE BRINGING INFERIOR MECHANICS TO PHL? TO GO WITH THE INFERIOR MANAGEMENT?

😉 Sorry, Never-mind.

Its funny they bid those interior mechanics jobs when they are unable to recruit regular line mechanics!! Who did they think was going to bid those jobs? Thought was the bottom 37 mechanics would get demoted to interior mechanics and lose their license premium. Another possibility was to hire DAL cleaners into those spots perhaps? All for not as those jobs have been cancelled for now....... Just another way to scre* the junior guys!!!

DAL started using Technician helpers for interior work, now they call them ASM aircraft support mechanic (or Another Sock Monkey).
Less money ,most with no tickets (or mechanical aptitude), but hey it's only non-airworthy cabin items <_<

Do you people just make this crap up?

The NEFs have already been cut in half since they were made a priority a few months back. Also they now cannot be deferred more the 120 days, it then becomes a drop-dead item.
I am not sure how hiring people to fix something is going to make it worse and if you are in MX (I am) you are grateful they are addressing this items. Also this is something the PAX should see a real substantial result from.
