Iran's peaceful nuke intentions?

I did a search for ‘iranpressnews’ and did not really come up with anything. Judging by the various links on the page it would not seem to be any unbiased source. Imagine my surprise.

According to USA, their stated intention is that they are seeking nuclear power, not weapons. Although I would not be surprised if they join the nuclear bomb club within the next 10 years or sooner. If other nations can join, why not them? Not like we have the ability to stop them.

I cannot help but wonder how different the out come would have been had w not supported that bastard Mohammed Reza Pahlavi (Shaw) and allowed Iran to determine their own fate rather than having it dictated by the west. I wonder if we would have been allies, or at the very least, not adversaries.

WTF you talking about? 😱

The exiled monarch had become unpopular in much of the world, especially in the liberal West, ironically his original backers and those who had most to lose from his downfall. He travelled from country to country in his second exile seeking what he hoped would be a temporary residence.

First he went to Egypt, and got an invitation and warm welcome from president Anwar el-Sadat. He later lived in Morocco, the Bahamas, and Mexico. But his non-Hodgkin's lymphoma began to grow worse, and required immediate and sophisticated treatment.

Reluctantly, on 22 October 1979 President Jimmy Carter allowed the Shah to make a brief stopover in the United States to undergo medical treatment. The compromise was extremely unpopular with the revolutionary movement, which were against the United States' years of support of the Shah's rule, and demanded his return to Iran to stand trial.

This resulted in the kidnapping of a number of American diplomats, military personnel and intelligence officers in what became known as the Iran hostage crisis. Once the Shah's course of treatment had finished, the American government, eager to avoid further controversy, pressed the former monarch to leave the country.

He left the United States on 15 December 1979 and lived for a short time in Panama. Finally he went back to Egypt where he died on July 27, 1980, aged 60.

I was going to ask the same thing. Your post seems to support the idea that the Shaw was bastard and should not have had our support. Upon his exit from Iran, all hell broke loose and we are stuck with what exists today.

I Know Garf, since it did'nt come from CNN..MSNBC..CBS..ABC..NBC it cant be true.....

Yea Im sure those peace lovers will state their true intentions.

Although I would not be surprised if they join the nuclear bomb club within the next 10 years or sooner.

Yea thats what they said about North Korea too!

If other nations can join, why not them? Not like we have the ability to stop them.

Its not a matter of ability, its a matter of will power.

The out come would have been the same, a leopard cannot change its spots.

Actually, it has more to do with the lack of verifiable sources and all 'unidentified sources", all the links are of an anti-iran nature. Just strikes me as a web site with an agenda. Considering that their calims are not substantiated

Iran is seeking to take control of Osama bin Laden's al-Qa'eda terror network by encouraging it to promote officials known to be friendly to Teheran, The Daily Telegraph can reveal.

What's their source? It may or may not be true but with out a source to verify, it is pretty much worthless.

Well did it ever cross your mind that most sources coming from 'INSIDE' the Terrorist sponsoring countries would like to keep their heads intact?

And did it ever occur to you that a source that cannot be held accountable may have anterior motives and may just be telling you what you want to hear? Hell, Al_jezera (sp?) is more reliable than your source. They seem to vet their info fairly well.

Basically your premise on all this terrorist threat propaganda is that you will believe it when you see it? Is this your stance?
