Iraq Collapsing

Not to worry! Obama's in control!!! ----------- http://theweek.com/article/index/263114/speedreads-russian-bomber-jets-came-within-50-miles-of-california-coast#axzz34TqSFUqD           Hey Dog! I hope you don't live in northern California!

I'm unclear on why this was posted?  This has been going on for decades and will continue to happen.  US territorial air space extends out 12 miles.  Anything beyond that is international air space.

Putin resumed them up in Aug 2007

Hey Dog!------- Do you know how long it would take for that Rusky bomber to fly 50 miles?
Why do they need to fly 50 miles?

Those bombers are the least of our worries. Boomers are far easier to move into position...

Yeah, Obama ups the ante with 2 B2's.....three hours from Russia..........Putin raises with a 20 minute nuke ....

Now that's a leader.....LOL

Sigh!...Yes indeed. What could be more truly "hilarious" than Russian bombers feeling perfectly free to come that close to the CONUS....?

It's international airspace so of course they are perfectly free to do so.

I don't think we have to worry about a bomber that can trace its lineage to the B-29 and has a radar cross section of an office building.  And I'm rather sure the first indication the crews of those Bear bombers that an F-22 was en-route was when they pulled up on their wing.

A true leader would always 'one-up' the other guy with something bigger and better.

Street gangs/thugs are perfectly free to wander about as well. That fails to make anyone going about their business in the same neighborhood overly comfortable. If you had ever encountered a potentially enemy aircraft aloft that was playing "turf" games in such fashion, you would have a better understanding of that being an appropriate comparison here.  While eolesen's quite correct that submarines are a more direct threat; the point that Putin's making with this is that he has complete contempt for us at this point in time.

That's o.k. Tree! You go and stick your head back in the sand! Obama is on the job! Not to worry! And E is correct, boomers are much easyer to deploy. ------ Oh, by the way Tree, have you checked your gas prices in the last couple days? Gone up have they? You don't think that has anything to do with what's going on in Iraq do you? ------ It's a shame because we have enough oil in this country to off set any loose over there.------- That's "if" obama would let us drill for it!----- So if Iraq falls, and there is more than a good chance it will, just as a small inconvenance, your gas prices will continue to rise. But than again, that's the least of things! Now it seems Iran may get involved. And this all could spill over into Saudi Arabia !--------  Better fill up your tank while you can still aford to!

I have not bought fuel in a few days so no idea.  Diesel for my wifes car is still $3.69 when I drove by the station last night.

Oil is sold on the open market.  Whether we do or dont have enough oil not with standing, the oil we pull out of the ground will be sold at the same price all the other comparable oil is so price at the pump will not be changing because oil is being pumped out of US soil.  Unless of course you believe the oil company will just sell it to us at a discount because we are so nice to them.

Any little hiccup in the ME will affect gas prices.  That is not new.  The question still remains, how much more money do you want to loose, how many more lives do you want to sacrifice and how much longer do you want to stay in Iraq?  We are still in Korea after over 50 years.  Is that long enough?  Do you really believe that the US can fix Iraq?  Four thousand years of fighting and we walk in "like liberators" and all is well?

Iraq was a cluster ph uck from day one.  Staying there longer does not change that fact or change the out come.  It delays the inevitable at the expense of lives and money.

"If" Iraq fails?  I like your optimism.  I believe it is more along the lines of when.  Nothing we can do will change that.  Yes price will spike for a bit as they did during the gulf wars.  Then things will settle down and prices will drop a bit, higher than they are now but lower than they will be.  Oil companies need to make a few buck right?  lol

As of 2012 we already out produce Iraq by 4:1 anyway so their oil would not be missed.

Johnny Mac wasn't worried about the hand held rifles that can trace their linage to muskets that shot him down in a F-4 Phantom.

When gas hit's $5.00 a gallon, the Libtards will start bitchin' wanting to know where their vouchers are, to help offset the increase!
