Obama did not support the surge.

You better get back to us on that one, maybe in 2007....

WSJ
WEST POINT, N.Y. -- President Barack Obama announced Tuesday a surge of 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, along with plans to begin withdrawing the reinforcements in 18 months -- a potentially high-risk political and military strategy.

Bottom Line: Bush or Obama take your pick,
One is a War Mongering Progressive  Liberal
While
The other is a War Mongering Neo-Con fascist

BOTH are Crony Capitalists of the highest order.

To me, the only noticeable difference is one of skin color.

Merely two wings on the globalist banksters bird of prey.

W was serving in the Texas Air national Guard then becoming a fighter pilot hoping to go to Nam.

You mean not attending required training and LOSING his active pilot's status and NEVER going to Nam.

Wrong

Bush had completed pilot training in June 1970 and flew F102's for two more years.

Never said he went to Nam.....He requested to go to Nam and was denied.

He lost his flight status by not taking a flight physical ....no BFD......

Not to mention that Bush only scored 25% on the pilot aptitude test (lowest acceptable grade) and was sworn in the same day he applied.  Most had to wait a year or two to be accepted into that squadron.  Loyd Bentsen and John Tower had their kids in this same squadron.  The F102 was being retired and the AF was only sending pilots over to Vietnam who had about 1,000 hours in the seat.

The fact that all the rich kids wanted in this squadron would seem to indicate that they knew a deployment over seas was unlikely.

Soooo? Like this is the first time? This is the way that Cronyism works. Whether it is corporate welfare or rich kids avoiding combat.

Yet another reason for a policy of non intervention.
