In a way, I can't believe I'm saying this but that was a very astute observation in my opinion.
Some facts....
1 - US made $303 million net, which is what really matters. That means thet there has effectively been one profitable quarter in the 5 quarters since exiting BK. Without the $305 million net profit in 2Q06, that $303 million profit wouldn't be there.
2 - Parker appears to be making US into a larger version of HP - there's been plenty of comments here to that effect. So how did the HP model perform financially in 2006? It lost money, so is that business model the one that will bring success in the future?
Personally, I think US employees would be much better served by worrying about the future of this company than in throwing stones at other carriers.

PS - CO had a larger 2006 net profit than US (over $340 million net), so that blows the "most profitable network carrier" theory out of the water.
