Jetblue Flap Problem ?

MRFISH,

UAIR has been flying the A320 type for a good while now and the ONLY emergency landing regarding the flap system was on an aircraft fresh out of a 3rd party maintenance visit.
E-TRONS,
You either left before PIT base maintenance started the Airbus 320 family S checks or forgot a couple of airplanes. 714 had the same landing gear issue as the ones that came out of BFM. Also, 716 had the same flap problem experienced multiple times out of of our third party maintenance provider. It even declared an emergency landing and had the fire trucks standing by, right in PIT. They were both done by our very skilled mechanics at USAirways.
Hmm.. how does that go against your "ONLY" statement above?

These boys are a little slow to come back to the table when the plat du jour is crow. Fact is, in spite of our best efforts, things just happen sometimes. Nothing serious thank God, just an aggravation.

The plane in question was brand new. Your comment is relevent how exactly?

Are you saying that jetBlue does not outsource maintenance to South America? Having repairs done by mechanics who are not regulated by the FAA and working for $5.00 per hour, is not a wise idea!

No, you idiot, I'm saying that since the plane in question was brand new, outsourced heavy maintenance could not have had any possible effect on this incident. Brand new airplane = no heavy maintenance. Get it yet? God, you're dense.

Hey IDIOT,

I can't be dense. I don't work for jetBlue. The real question is... Do you get that jetBlue is a worthless airline? You're a true Barney!

You're still avoiding my question...

Are you saying that jetBlue does not outsource maintenance to South America?

**Lay off the name calling. This isn't the 3rd grade playground.**

I'll say that they don't. Last time I checked my world globe, El Salvador was still a part of the North American continent. It had not broken off, floated southward, and attached itself to Ecuador or someplace...

Hmmm, looks like name calling to me SilentWarrior!!

Fine then, looks like we'll have to give time outs to a couple people. **************** Warning that any more name calling on this thread (or board) will result in time off for said posters. If you cant reply without the name calling, just skip the thread, ok?

Wow, I'm surprised to see this post still going! I just happened to visit this site....It's been a while.

PIT, If those things happened with 716, why did we not hear of them in CLT Base Mtc??? Was Lieberger afraid the work would come to CLT if the PIT mechs were messing up??? We never even got an MAB on it??

Anyhow, Like the bottom of my page states: EX-UAIR mech WHO cared...that is past tense!!

Good luck to all of you. The way aviation maintenance is going, you will need it.

Hey A320DRIVER, I can easily be reached with a "PM" and will back up what I say. I quit following this post because it had gone cold. I ain't skeered!!!

Hey, I didn't realize your post was from so long ago either E-TRONS.
Anyhow, I do not know how you did not find out, 716's flap problem happened while flying into CLT. The plane was in the line hangar for 2 days getting fixed. We asked 700 several times to find out about it, but he conveniently ignored us since it was an example of how our in-house mtc could have the same problems as the outsourced does. It happened in May,05. Were you still around?

That would be why......I left the company on Voluntary Separation in March 2005.

This is a very interesting topic. I think all of you are somewhat biased in your opinions as to what really happens out there. You guys have an uncanny way of twisting things up to meet your specific needs at the time.

By the way people, if a third shop facility screws up they get the bill.

Today is going to be just another NORMAL DAY in the airline industry.

What was the FLAP problem??? WTB locked out, FLAP/SLAT LOCK ????? These faults are built into the Airbus CFDS maintenance/troubleshooting system. You can't blame a WTB fault or flap/slat lockout on maintenance! Common problems with water ingressing into the flap drives and then freezing at altitude which will trip the Flap limiter you can't blame on a mechanic in El Salvador, Canada, or the US. Another common problem is pilots overspeeding the flap system and the WTB will lock them out from coming down, due to the excessive airspeed. Are you going to blame that on a mechanic?? Now if a flap or slat fell off you can blame that on a mechanic. The other faults/failures are built into the Airbus system!!!!
Ever try using JAS-CO, in the WTB, works fine and last a long time.
