Former Stronghold?

CLT is still US' Fortress Hub.

It's not posted on this thread yet. The title was referencing RDU, CLT was referred to as "US hub," RDU is a "former US stronghold."

I think JB coming into CLT is a serious threat, but at the same i dont think so, US has more flights into NYC than JB would have anyways, and also Airtran has come into CLT, and well, it hasnt affected US that much, i still bet that US should hit JB back by servicing CLT-JFK on thoe E190s we are getting !

Rumor has it you can add GSO soon ..... heard Jetblue may be taking over the space Delta vacated when they move to the new terminal. GSO's location half way in between RDU and CLT, a short car ride from either, means that if the right fares were in place at GSO someone could pull from all three markets.

Yes it was all ready posted:

Yes 700 - we get it - you posted it first. Congratulations. You win the prize.

I think this subject is worthy of a new thread since the previous one was about more competition with Southwest moving in to IAD.

I dont know if I would be willing to drive to GSO from CLT just to save 30 bucks or so, especially with the cost of gas. Actually, this may bring back traffic to CLT.

A-con gates I would presume.

Federal regulations state the airport must find them a gate to use.

I know what my net buds say about both SW and JB--and US air also----JB hands down for service/price and they love the TV/radio on Transcon flts--we're behind the 8 ball again--oo my. Uncle Ed was the very best thing for SW on the West Coast/NE and Fl----hope GP doesnt let JB kick our butt like SW has last 18 yrs.

Well, from CLT, these flights will also hit yields to markets like PWM, BOS, ROC, SYR, BUF, and PIT, given that jetBlue will be able to connect passengers via JFK.

For reference, in 3Q05 the average O/W fare paid CLT-NYC was $175.27 and RDU-NYC was $158.70. US average fares were $187.72 & $141.86, respectively.

Dont forget the $40 - $ 60 cab ride each way to and from Manhattan depending on the time of day.
