Hey NY AA'ers, how about an update on the "Taj Mahal", aka John Fitzgerald Kennedy International Airport (American Airlines spiritual Home)(along with LGA of course)

What is the completion factor(as of today) on the "Taj Mahal" ???

What is the completion factor on "Air Train" ???

What other airlines are we currently "handling", or are rumored to start handling ????

Curious (Retired) minds would like to know !!

Thanx,
NH/BB's

Air tran is complete and up and running. Seems to be doing well.

Based on a post on flyertalk, whatever the internal employee publication is stated that the new terminal is expected to be open summer 2005 so they can raise terminal 9 (I think) and start that construction.

There are rumors that Iberia Airlines may be leaving, as AA has hiked it's fees with the new terminal opening. Finnair appears to be staying though. The light are flickering day and night at the new terminal. Not a graceful looking building, just functional.

Lets face it, The building will be big, functional and maybe beautiful. But ITS a hell of an improvement over what's there now from the 1960's with ends added for the 747's AA flew to Lax and San Juan in the 1970's. JFK was so under developed in the 1980 and 1990's this is just kepping things to what they need to be. Also when the other terminal was built AA was a largely domestic airline at JFK, today its that but a vey international one too with Tokyo, LHR and Sao Paulo just to name a few. First Class louges and arrivals louges were not in demand in 1970.
