Can anyone tell me what a decent crash pad runs for near JFK airport and should you bring a junk car or use mass transit to get to JFK?? Thanks

There is plenty of room where I'm at. Lynbrook, it's about a 15 minute drive to JFK. You could use public transportation if need be; however, it increases the commute to about an hour. If you have a car you can dive I would suggest that, makes life a whole lot easier. It's a nice community in a decent area with everything you need. I'm paying $260 mo and that includes basic cable, hi spd internet and a washer & dryer. I have been there for just over a year and have not had any problems. Hope this helps.

Most of the crashpads are about $250. Very few people have cars and I would not suggest it. Parking is a nightmare x 2. If you get a crashpad in the Kew Gardens area, you can use the company shuttle, the bus, Q Runner, or Kew Taxi. There are also a bunch of places that you can get to by taking the Air Train to Employee Parking.
