Hi CO Employee,

Can you tell me what is Talent Selection process? What is that mean? I look at the Crew Scheduling position on continental.com. Do you know what is this about?

What is the Selection? Please tell me more about this before I ask my friend to apply.

Here is the quote from the position
Responsibilities

This job is necessary for current operations, may be subject to the Talent Selection process and is only open to current Continental Airlines employees due to each carrier’s single operating certificate and/or collective bargaining agreements.

If the position is posted on www.continental.jobs, external applicants may also apply.

The talent selection Process is because the Managers for the jobs have not yet all been selscted and so the job requirements and Manpower have not yet been finalized, Nobody REALLY knows What it will take to actually handle the combined airline's processes. They believe they have some Idea but in reality? Nobody knows down to the last shoestring. The talent selsction process is the meansby which Both airline's personnell will have an equal shot at the jobs going forward. Especially the WHQ jobs moving to the Operations Control Center in Downtown Chicago. That should be the deciding factor in who talkes the job and where the job actually IS. Even in My particular Job My counterparts from Houston will be coming to "Our House" and Rumored to be doing it the way We do it because there are far fewer of US than there are of THEM for relatively the same size fleet of airplanes. So, in truth some of this will be Pure Numbers and some of it will be "Pure" "As the cookie crumbles".. Meaning, each group (UAL-CAL) will be interviewing to determine who will be staying or leaving in each department. Even Manager's I've worked with for Years might be shown the door so this could get BRUTAL.
