Morgan Analyst Jamie Baker said major airlines lost $1.6 billion in the third quarter and revenue trends have not yet shown much improvement, but the industry has not deteriorated aside from passengers avoiding travel on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The quarter showed good cost controls at Continental and Northwest but an increasing likelihood that UAL Corp. will file for bankruptcy, Baker said in a research note.[/FONT][/P]
