What's new

Just for you US1YFARE!

My favorite comment is "Well you'd have to be drunk to fly them."

You still walk away from the article thinking boy, that US Airways is cheap.

I predict a new avatar on the way:

Why are they tasting it out of a glass?

I'm sure it will taste different out of the party cups.

Good thing they are not "going all out a la Delta, American, and United" while they all merge around us while they scrimp over two penny upgrades of wine that will be served on 20 flights a day.

We searched high and low until we could find the right vintner that met US Airways standards!

So, until the changeoever, can we be just as classy, and offer "crap" wine?

After extensive research and focus groups, it has been determined that boxed wine will be best suited with our butchered galley configurations.

N903AW, you have the presentation all wrong. And no, there will not be glassware, or even party cups for that matter:

My bad. I should have known that they would have to eliminate wine glasses and party cups to compensate for this huge upgrade to our onboard frat party experience.

I just received the bulletin that states while serving the wine as shown, the flight attendant must yell "GO! GO! GO! GO!"

What about the wine that is served in first class on the domestic side? That wine we serve is so disgusting. Even if you can tolerate a marginal wine it is a little hard to swallow. Serving it out of a plastic doesn't make it any better. We need better wine on domestic.

I love this from the article, you know about a company who swears it has an increasing number of "elite" FF's, including US1's:

US Airways hopes the new wines, combined with upgraded food, improve its standing among the most frequent fliers.

I thought they had nothing to worry about and everything in VFF land was hunky-dory. Still the sad part is that they do indeed realize they suck, they do indeed recognize their competitors offer much more, yet they still charge as much as, or more than, their competition and have no idea how to run an airline.

And bother way, just so this does not fall to the waist side, THEY DON'T SERVE WINE IN GLASS--THEY SERVE IT IN A PLASTIC PARTY CUP.

By the glazed look in her eyes in the photograph, I would be pretty certain that her goblet was full when she started.
