Slowly, but surely, DL shareholders are subscribing to the "old Hunters theory", "that a bird in the hand, is worth two in the bush"

DL management is going to have to do a TON of "Schucking and Jiving" to sell their 1 year + (out of BK) plan to the stockholders !!

Another thing,
ya gotta' figure that any big money investors, may be withholding funds from DL, because of this original bid, and the possibility that ANOTHER airline might "jump in" with another hostile takeover move.

Buttons, or NO buttons, DL has very little CONTROL over this "pending" situation.

Delta non-pilot employee pensions are still intact thanks to the recent pension reform that passed congress which allows the company to spread out payments to the fund over more years...the pilots fund was terminated, upon their agreement, mainly in part because of the lumpsum payments, which ALPA was warned years ago needed to be removed to allow the company the chance to save their pension...

You have a weird definition of "intact." The traditional DB plans were frozen and converted into cash-balance plans years ago.

The traditional plans were frozen, but not all were converted - the retirees are still receiving monies under the old plan as will active employees who retire before a certain date - for the employees who retire after a certain date their pensions have been converted...
