Petitions have already been filed to reject leases on the 30 FRJs which were assigned to Delta by Independence. Also included are leases on MD-11s which are subleased and 737-200s which are parked in Arizona.

see www.deltadocket.com for updates on Delta's bankruptcy process.

Is FlyI on the hook for those FRJs? If so, I expect a Ch 11 filing by FlyI in the next day or so.

FlyI is not responsible as part of the arrangement with DL that terminated DL Connection/Atlantic Coast service. Those will go back to the leasing companies, many of which are US-European partnerships. It's doubtful those planes will fly again.

What is an FRJ? F***ing Regional Jet I assume?

Fairchild-Dornier 328JET. Now out of production and pretty much an unwanted 'orphan' airplane.
FlyI used to operate some for Delta (as a Delta Connection carrier) up until the middle of last year when they were still Atlantic Coast Airlines.

...the best chance they have is for Midwest Airlines to pick some of them up...wouldn't be their worst acquisition either. They were going to fly them for DL but it fell apart as DL couldn't really find enough use for them. Maybe YX can expand some with them. They a good passenger aircraft...

WTF?????

DL has 3 MD11's leased to World Airways & 1 (DL N802DL) which is slated to be sold to FX & is currently parked in Canada for storage.

The 737-200's are finally, not a moment to soon, being returned to leasor and/or parked for retirement..

The RJ's that is ASA's / Skywest problem now..

This is how it starts: first they screw all the companies doing business with them then the main hub airport and all the while this is going on they steal the employees wages, benefits and of coarse the main reason YOUR PENSION!! Don't forget the execs will all be raking in millions. This is an industry wide trend. All the airlines are going to do it thanks to UAir & UAL. They led the way. Let the courts do the dirty work. AA certainly isn't going to stay out of the fun much longer. Aviation for the working man is over unless you like taking huge responsibilites such as crew and maintenace are while working for a Wal-Mart wage. The End

actually thats not really true. Now that DL is in BK, thats on hold. They don't know what leases they will be able to terminate. In case they end up losing some 88s or 75s, they will hold on to the 732s a while longer.
