Until then, every worker will lose. There is no convincing reason for a company to negotiate fairly without a legit strike threat. Everyone knows Canale sings like a canary but in the end does nothing for his IAM members. AMFA may try to work out a deal but the workers will most likely see through it as unfair and vote it down again since most of them have been wanting to stand up to managements missives for quite a while now. Supper may be ready even if AMFA leadership isn't as strong as the rank & filers.
