Winston-Salem shouldn't give Usairways a dime to keep the call center there. There was never a doubt in the company's mind where the center would be. Pit offered what, quadruple the money that Int did, and the company still chose INT. They also weren't planning to add more agents there other than the few that transfer. Now that PA has advised the CWA the EO agents will get unemployment as well as those taking the fulough, the company better start finding an office offshore that can handle 800 res agents.

Could you expand on your comment about CWA being notified that PA would give unemployment to the folks who choose an early out? Here in INT we are being told the company will aggressively pursue denial of unemployment for people taking and early out.............

Pa employees will get unemployment if they take the EO once the office actually closes.
INT has an office to go to , Pit employees do not. If you work in INT and take the EO, you are voluntarily leaving the company. If you work in PIT, you are not voluntarily leaving the company, you are just leaving sooner than others. That's the difference. Pa views the EO only as enhanced severence which does not affect unemployment eligibility.
