Southwest Airlines Cut to Hold on DoT Norms, Cost Woes - Analyst Blog

Further, Southwest Airlines faces competition from low-cost carriers as well as major airlines that cut fares in order to attract customers. Also, fuel price volatility continues to be one of the potent challenges. Meanwhile, mounting debts coupled with rising capital expenditure related to fleet restructuring may hurt the carriers growth prospects.

I get that.

investment analysts frequently change their ratings which change based on their perception of the current price of the stock and their belief in the value of the company.

So if a Zacks downgrade from buy to hold gets a commentary like this:

"Further, Southwest Airlines faces competition from low-cost carriers as well as major airlines that cut fares in order to attract customers. Also, fuel price volatility continues to be one of the potent challenges. Meanwhile, mounting debts coupled with rising capital expenditure related to fleet restructuring may hurt the carriers growth prospects."

Then surly now an UPGRADE buy Zacks  from hold to BUY, deserves an equally positive review of SWA from you.

Unless, of course, you started this thead only as an attempt to bash WN.

I simply quoted the information which was provided.

if you don't like the timing or contact of it, you should contact Zacks.

there is no trashing of anyone... analysts change their ratings all the time based on factors in the industry.

Last week, they perceived that the DOT issues were significant enough to effect WN's stock price.

This week they seem less concerned.

airline stocks generally had a good day based on lower crude oil prices and the expectation that it will continue. Crude oil prices are one of the most direct influences to stock prices for not only just airlines but all transportation companies.

Right.

So you routinely post downgrades to Delta's stock along with the links and excerpts of the bad news for Delta?

Oh don't bother answering that.
You still can't get over that Delta went bankrupt.
