Machinists to Help Delta Airlines' Workers Unionize

This sums up the drive by the IAM. If you think they're trying to organize DL because they want to help them get improvments and protection for their employment, think again. If this drive fails, they will continue to look for opportuinties to organize (new revenue streams) other groups. Unions are a business first, and when they lose revenue such as employee layoffs and employee pay cuts, they have to figure out ways to increase that revenue. Got to keep the cash coming in to pay the fat cats.

Wrong. They do not lose revenue with employee pay cuts and layoffs. They just organize the part-timers that take the place of the former full-timers and take full dues. Ask your IAM 'leader' how much of a paycut he/she took during the last concessionary contract (which is all of them) :shock:

It was frozen for over ten years!!!! And how did they "protect" us during our integration? They through away the "Scope" clauses of our contract with not so much as a vote of the membership!----- And guess what? Mr. Bill (IAM) O'Driscal himself still has a positive space , first class, pass on aa to this day! :shock:---- But it is said that he offered to take care of any indigent exTWAer, at his Castle in Ireland!!! ;)------ He's all heart!!! :down:

The IAM didn't protect US AIRWAYS retirement benefits either. The IAM signed a deal that took a $47 million concession for fleet service just to get in an entry level IAM pension plan that the company was all to willing to put in a measley 3%-5% of earnings into, instead of another retirement plan that the company had to put in up to 10% of employee earnings into. In fact, other than pay, US fleet's biggest concession was its retirement cut, thanks to the IAM.

You are right. Ask the AMT's at U where their pension went. It went to the PBGC. Don't believe anything the iam has to say! Like other posters have said," It's only about the dues money". The iam is foaming at the mouth over the thought of a few thousand more at DL. The End
