Madrid Airport bombing

  Oh my! Where's the hype on FOX or CNN? I suppose since it was claimed by a legitimate terror group, ETA Militar and not some so called muslim extremists it doesn't merrit too much attention.

This is an ongoing political dispute between a seperatist group and the Spanish government, as delldude points out it's an internal issue that has festered for some time, you know kinda like the IRA and Great Britain.

Terrorism needs to be stamped out period...!!!!!!
But this is not some group going around strapping bombs on with the intent of killing as many Christians and Jews as they can where ever they reside because they feel their holy book demands it for a confirmed ticket to paradise.

This is old news. It happened on December 30, 2006. It was all over the news at that time. Where were you if you did not find out about this till now?

🙄

. . . But this is not some group going around strapping bombs on with the intent of killing as many Christians and Jews as they can where ever they reside because they feel their holy book demands it for a confirmed ticket to paradise . . .

Does it really matter whether one seeks virgins in heaven or a separatist homeland?

Murder is murder.

Although ETA is indeed a Spanish thang, an organization which generally seeks to avoid killing "innocents", it is indeed guilty of plenty of murders. Each death is committed in the name of it's cause. That ETA's cause differs from the Muslim insurgency which grabs more headlines, makes it a no less heinous act.

Absolutely murder is murder, and I was by no means trying to make excuses for the actions of the ETA nor the IRA. but the difference being and you pointed it out as well is that 'innocents' are not the target.

When was the last time either of those groups kidnapped an american journalist (anyone for that matter) and beheaded them recording the whole incident? when was the last time either of those groups attacked our country killing thousands of innocents all in the name of Jihad (holy war)? when was the last time either of those groups boasted of the fact that any religion other than Islam will be destroyed?

Yes one is a murderer and the other a serial killer, both deserve destruction.

Yep there's degrees of everything.

ETA is a terrorist organization in the "old" sense of the word as ETA seeks a political goal -- similar to, though not the same as the IRA.

Al Qaeda is a new variant in the terrorist paradigm whose actions are frequently politicized by the media ( though not political per se ). In truth al Qaeda is plain and simple about hatred and murder in the coarsest sense -- I would characterize al Qaeda's goals and methods as evil hiding behind a religion.

The odd thing about these latest ETA bombings is that there appears to be strong resolve amongst the Spanish people not to give in to ETA. But lacking is an intense public outrage against the ( leftist ) Spanish government which wanted to negotiate with ETA. Posit this against the public antipathy which flips an election three days after the al Qaeda Madrid bombings.

Thus far in Spain, evil is still leading "old" terrorism even though it's 1 to 1 in bombs.
