By the way if you totally eliminated all cash welfare programs from the Federal budget, you would reduce the budget by less than 2%.
I was just using that as an example. Although, I would have to say that 2% of the federal budget is definitely a huge chunk of change, arguably enough to perhaps rebuild the city of New Orleans. But eliminating the program is not the answer, it must be a combination of things.... change the tax code completely, and use either a flat tax or a consumption tax, and cut fat from the programs. Prescription drugs, health care, welfare, etc... somethings gotta give. Don't make the bread winners be the only ones to take the hit.
