Can anyone enlighten us as to the status of management's pension plan?

Did their plan get the ax as well?

I highly doubt that mgmt didnt lose their pensions as they had theirs in a secure place where it couldnt be touched. plus, they have the huge bonuses for their mistakes to make up the difference if they were to lose the pensions.

That's probably the case for the 100 or so VP's, but what about all of the duty managers, supervisors, analysts, etc.??? They're management too....

You should be ashamed of yourself. Why don't you spend your time lobbying for keeping the Wright Amendment in place, or else WN is going to kiss your ass in Dallas.

Ashamed of what? Reminding someone that management as a classification for pension purposes includes a lot more than just a few empty suits @ CCY?

Despite the public grandstanding on both sides of the Wright argument, we'll be just fine continuing to compete with them the same way we have since the 1970's.

I didn't have a pension in a mgmt position there. 401k was avail & co added(matched) 2% (if you contributed to it)

In the 38 cities that we both serve, really wondering how they are going to decide which Mgr. to Keep...HP or USAir. Kind of worried, but am trying to be optimistic.

SpinDoc Replies:

Management pensions, including those of
lower level managment and administrative
employees have not been terminated;
however, the company ceased contributions
to the plans within the the last year.

I thought the management plan was the same one as the pre-CWA res/ATO/CSA plan, and was frozen a long time ago, then recently terminated?

The pension plan for all CSA (at the time all airport, which includes fleet, csa and res., not sure who else) was "frozen" around '92

The current retirement plan for management
employees is with Fideilty Investments, and
has not been terminated, although company
contributions have been stopped.
Management employees have two
retirement plans, a company sponsored
and funded retirement plan, and a co-funded
401K.

The company will most likely resume
funding of the standard retirement plan
and 401K after the merger is
consummated.

That can't be for all management. I was management in '92 and I can assure you that my pension was frozen at that time. When was it "unfrozen" for management? Or I guess some members of management still have a pension and some don't?

My understanding is that their contracts have not been altered regarding their pensions. I do know that after they fully funded their pensions in 2004, right before we went into Bk in Sept, they then decreased their defined pension contribution by 25% according to the 8K report that was public in August 2004 and the BK filing.

That was for senior directors and below who had a defined pension plan that was frozen in 1992. However, Senior Executives are under contract and those are and have been very lucrative and very lavish.

Oh, I realize that, sorry I wasn't more clear. I was just referring to lower management. I know that the senior execs will be obscenely compensated.
