What's new

Mbb

All political lobbying much like our American cousins....our Air Force was essentially told to re-write the parameters for the new utility helo to fit the 412 because that was what they were getting whether they liked it or not and it was the government glad handing Bell and the Montreal area, the MBB deal was the same for the company and Fort Erie.

The Yanks go through similar lobbying, that's why the USCG snippers are shooting from the door of an Agusta 109 vice a Blackhawk and they use Dauphins for SAR. All politics and support for Augusta Bell to help imports.

It will never change....that is why I think the Sea King replacement will be the NH90 as our current Liberal gov is for whatever reason (Chretien's nephew is Ambassador to France, quel surprise) is sucking up to France. However I must say that I cannot foresee what Mr Martin will do and Sikorsky is teamed up with Bombardier so historically......too bad, the S92 is not my choice at all.

but all politics aside, did the 105 do the job is was intended to do?? was it a better replacement for the 206 then say, the twinstar, the 222/230, the 117 and any other light/medium twin??

what do you guys driving the machinery think??

I know legally that Eurocopter is stuck in this situation, I just hope that the name doesn't get tarnished from the actions of others in the past who belonged to a different company.
I'd hate to have bought a faulty "lawnmower" from some guy, not knowing that there was an obvious problem, and then be faced with a lawsuit when the dang thing throws a blade and cuts the neighbour cat to pieces....

hey widgeon,

I'm not familiar with those P/N's, are they for what I'm thinking they're for?
I did notice that Quebec is the final destination...too bad the government is feeding them more. (Can the rest of the country benefit from something...anything...thats aviation related for a change?)
On another note, I'm hoping Bell takes note of the prime real estate across the street from us, (the doors there will eventually close). It'd be great to have Bell leave Le Belle province, and come to Ontario. We'd be such good neighbours with them, it'd also make the transition that much easier when Eurocopter takes them over.
I'm envisioning a three bladed 407 with a fenestron...and a 4 bladed A-star with an C-47...

Mag, a 4 bladed Astar with a C47? sounds like you are into some major "product improvement" at EC..... 😀

The day EC takes over Bell is when I burn up my Heli licence 😀 😉

Any idea why Native Air rolled up their new B3 last night on the airport in Mesa AZ ? sounds like another "loss of control" issue ??????????

I heard from a reliable source this morning that he was hired by Bell to purposefully destroy the aircraft. I think Bells getting desperate in their bid to rid the world of a far superior aircraft. They can't do it by conventional means, so....
