Are you serious? First of all, do realize that ANY Airline has the Authority to sell any portion thereof to another carrier. We can't do anything to stop that. We can only argue the fact that the sale is a change in control, not an asset sale, as Mainline claims....which WE ARE DOING. What the Union did for you, was at least get you something, rather than nothing. And if you don't want the "something", you are free to quit, and show your stand that way. But somehow, I don't think you will. What you fail to understand is, the company COULD have imposed a lessor deal on the flight attendants, which THEY HAD THE AUTHORITY TO DO. The Union had a choice. Do they take what they can get, or do they let the company shove what they want down our throats. Our Union chose to have a little "something" rather than "nothing". So before you put your opinion out on a message board....Know your facts. Once again, THE COMPANY IS ALLOWED TO SELL OFF MAA. There is NO language that says MAA would be forever....unless you can prove otherwise. So what ever your "proposals" are to do to make this a better situation.....lets hear it. Otherwise, pipe down or quit.

PS....since you're getting furloughed, in your spare time, learn proper grammar before you write messages.

MAABoss,

That was an insensitive remark. You obviously are someone who either is in managment and are being offered another position somewhere else(Republic) or have never been furloughed twice within a 3 year period. To say something like that was cruel and uncalled for.

WELL THEN LETS DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT... ANY PROPOSALS!!

Oh my god....And you just joined TODAY?????
What a joke!

AFA and US/MDA negotiated a contract, the company could not have imposed a lessor offer.

Don't let the facts get in your way

I wrote what i wrote for a reason BOSS and I used the verbage i wanted to use as we all know sometimes things are done for a reason . Maybe not the right one, but for a reason. I am not a joke but if you relocated twice for the company and have put up with being lied to and the company has chosen not to give you the proper info. regarding this matter then you have a right to be angry and voice your opinion.............. It is obvious that you do work in management or the union ... I work here b/c I love my job... I dont have to explain that to you, b/c it shows when i go to work. You are right we have no control over the sale of the company but we do have a say in how we are being treated within the company.... And i hate to tell you but our union hasn't negotiated much, the pilots well we will see- they have taken a much better route. If you do choose to say that the company is treating us fairly then that is your opinion but it is obvious you haven't been treated the way that hundreds of others have.........

I hope my grammar is up to par for you this time.

If you are talking about an AFA contract American Eagle revised I havent seen it "supposedly" there is a copy somewhere and I am sure there is but nobody has seen it.... and I am sure we never will!

Your union is nearly broke so I wouldn't be looking for 1,000's of copies of the contract. If you haven't seen it perhaps it's because you didn't ASK to see it or for a copy of it.

Your union got you a far better deal BECAUSE of the person you seem to be so hostile towards. This woman has worked her assets off on behalf of her members. I've seen her in action and all I'll say is if you're unhappy now wait until December 3rd.

If you're so upset now, where have you been the last 3 years?? Little late in the ball game to speak out now. All the heavy lifting has already been done. Now all that's left is for the lazy whinners and complainers to step forward and point out what went wrong. Not IMO very helpful or productive. Your $39.00/month gives you a voice to bad you were busy when it was time to speak up.

Piney... some things you don't know:

Fact: It is the company's obligation to print the contract at its expense. This is not a union obligation. We were told the contract was finalized a year ago. Yet, now we are told it's being "fine tuned". A year to be fine tuned. A true union leader would have made the company agree to print the contract within a certain period of time... especially this company. If the contracts weren't printed in 30 days, AFA should have sent JG a certified demand letter threatening to print it and bill the company for the costs.

Fact: The MAA MEC pres was not elected. She was hand picked by Teddy Xidas. There was a subsequent election, and the vast majority of the MAA flight attendants were saying they would not vote to re-elect the MAA pres. Well, guess what happened, she was re-elected, only for the MAA flight attendants to later find out that there was a discrepancy with dues being transferred from the company to AFA and the company not withholding dues, even though AFA had authorizations to withhold dues on file on all of the flight attendants. Because the dues weren't withheld or transferred, most of the members were not in good standing, therefore ineligible to vote. Their votes were not counted, even though they were submitted.

You say she got the MAA flight attendants a "far better deal." Well, I hate to break it to the company and to AFA, but most of the MAA flight attendants are planning on quitting... walking off. Who are they going to get to fly these aircraft. Mainline can't! A CAP of $2,000 is crap. If the company had offered $5,000 upon release for each MAA flight attendant, it would come to only about $1.4 million. Most would stay. How many millions will JG leave with? A hell of a lot more than that, I'm sure!

Where have MAA F/A's been the last three year? Mostly, on furlough! This division started only a year and a half ago. It is noteworthy that a few dozen flight attendants returned to MAA within the past couple of months and were told nothing of the impending transaction before they were forced to give a 90 day commitment to the company.

Piney,
Are you even aware that the EMB-Division has a seperate union than mainline? Our union president does not even call us back most of the time. This person was not voted in just as DCflyer said. This person was just all of a sudden given that position without any notice to anyone. Then after she was put there, eventually there was an election. I did not vote for her and neither did most of the f/a's. I have yet to run into ANYONE who wants her there. Figure that one out!

Piney,

As a matter of fact I have been in the same place as I am right now an employee of USAirways. So its not to late to speak out, I have the b@@@s to do it though, unlike so many people i know, who do whine about the situation, and well i dont understand why you think I am targeting one person.... the whole union is responsible, however you must think one person does stand out, oh well that is obvious, I don't think Dec. 3 will effect any of us sweetheart! Keep patting yourself on the back!!! TA TA I have to go have a totty!!!

You're mistaken. If the Company and AFA could not have reached a T/A for an incentive package, in bankruptcy, the company could impose the last discussed proposal that was on the table. Which, incedently, was less that what was finally agreed upon. AFA could have filed a grievance against it, but at that point, it would have been moot.

DCA....
You apparently don't know the correct facts either.....
The Company is NOT 100% responsible for having the contract published and distributed, it is split 50/50 between AFA and the Company.

The MEC President for MAA was not "hand picked" as you described, by Teddy Xidas. When MAA was part of Mainline's Union and they spun them off, Teddy appointed Bobbie into a temporary position, until an election was held. (At the direction of Pat Friend). There was an election, and Bobbie won.

As for the $2000.00 cap.....you want $5000.00? 1.4Million? Are you serious? We are in bankruptcy here. We are trying to preserve the operation. The company just as soon park the aircrafts than pay out millions to retain flight attendants. Lets just say you GOT $5000.00.....then you wouldn't be happy because there was no insurance offered. And if you DID get insurance, you wouldn't be happy because there wasn't xy and z.......Get my point?

You're one of those f/a's who stands on the side lines looking for someone to do wrong, to then swoop down and attack the prey. You never come forward and stand up and be the Chief....you just wait quietly to strike......WHY?? Because that's EASIER.

You're a very pathetic excuse for a flight attendant. You give the rest of the good flight attendants a very bad name. You should be ashamed of yourself.
