Funny enough.

The Mechanics at AA were sent packing to another section on this bulletin, and it now appears the F/A's took over this section.

Who is the unhappiest group at AA?

You do have a point, however, there are some major differences.

One, there are only a few threads dealing with the APFA election.

Two, the number of posts on this subject is very small compared to those on the TWU vs. AMFA debate.

Lastly, this issue will be over and done with by the end of January as opposed to the open ended mechanics representation discussion.

In the last ten topics posted to the AA BB, there were 11,806 views and 283 replies; of the last ten threads, seven were APFA, one was about the APA, one was abour the M&R being moved and one dealt with JFK.

During roughly the same period, on the Maintenance & Related BB, and over the last ten topics posted, there were 5,482 views and 392 replies.

In all, it appears that the M&R folks recieve less than half of the attention but are 30% more likely to respond.

Please be civilized in your response and avoid the obvious ;-).

The trend continues...more Flight Attendants and less of everything else.

Could it be that US Aviation is more concerned with the one Unionized Employee Group that dared last strike the Evil Empire?

What could that tell us about the derivation of this site?

If you have a mechanic related issue that the board might be interested in reading that pertains to AA instead of just the TWU/AMFA debate, you're more than welcome to post it on the AA board. The reason the mechanics debate was moved to the Mechanic and Related forum were two fold. One was the number of complaints the threads were causing from both the non mechanic (and actually several of the mechanics as well) AA board readers and the other was the TWU/AMFA debate goes beyond AA and pertains to many of the other airlines whose mechanic unions are debating the same issues with their current unions.
The APFA election will be over in 3 weeks. Since Jan 1, there have been 22 threads on the AA board. 9 are APFA election specific, 4 are FA related non election and the remaining 9 pertain to various aspects of AA. In comparison, when the mechanics were "moved" to another board, there were over 50 threads within a 2 month period that were TWU/AMFA specific, with no signs of an end in sight (and there still isnt). The debate was becoming overwhelming to the AA board and was getting out of hand. There has been little problem of a similar nature with the APFA vote and once again it will be ending at the end of the month.
As far as US Aviation having more concern for one group or company over another, there isnt any. That is why there are so many various boards for people to post on. We try to make the boards as easy to read and enjoyable as possible and that was not happening with the mechanic free for all debate that was taking place.
Thanks for your concerns though.
