Hello,

I've been hearing a lot about media day.. with our CEO and everything else going on. What are the activities planned for media day and are they going to be visiting the different US Airways buildings around the country?

Just curious!

I heard there should be a beer chugging contest!!!!!! Let's go chug-a-lug Doug!!!

I don't mean for this to be a smart remark, but you are right there. Please find out & post it for us. Inquiring minds want to know.

This is an opportunity for the Media to come at CHQ and hear what the company has in the works, new projects, and I know that the New Uniform Prototypes will be unveiled to the media as well.

They better unveil some pretty good SERVICE oriented products for both domestic and international. Otherwise they will get raked over the coals for trying to come off as an LCC while maintaining all the attributes of a legacy.

We need to invite the media to any of our large East cities so Tempe can show the resounding success of the res migration and so they can explain why the lines are so long and just how good Qik/Shares really is. Unfortunately they don't have the guts to face the truth.

Although it is unlikely that Tempe will fess up to the catastophe that they have created. A quick solution would be to split the res systems back to what they were one week ago and get busy training the west agts for a switch to a REAL res system ----SABRE----, not this imposter that we are presently stuck with.

That's the right answer. Tempe needs to do it NOW!

BRANCATELLI FILE: WHAT WILL LOYAL US AIRWAYS FLYERS DO NOW?
which exposed those executives as incompetent, arrogant, self-deluded and dishonest.

I have been saying this all along. And, I know this from my own experiences in dealing with these people. I have never dealt with a collective group that are so smug and condescending, yet so incompetent. In my case, they never took ownership of the hardships they caused for me and, in some instances, they were retaliatory. Oddly, they know that they are incompetent and perversely use that as their excuse. Statements like, "we didn't realize", "this is all new to us", "this is the way we do things here" are mantras in Tempe. Once, I methodically built a case for an issue that I had had. I followed the chain of command that eventually led to a certain VPs' desk. When I presented this person with the situation and asked he/she to think "outside the box", he/she responded in an email and used statements like, "what I have found out", "unfortunately, we do it this way", "our policy is", "I understand your frustration". This person repeated everything that I had already stated and then acted as if he/she did a little research and found this-and-this out for me. They did absolutely nothing, but acted as if they did. Eventually the Union got involved and the situation was made right. As an aside; never underestimate the value of your Union dues. When you are right and you've built your case, they will go to battle for you.

The only way it gets better is if the issue is kept in the harsh glare of the media.

I'll repeat what I said in the "$100 Dollar Bonus" topic. It would be a wise strategy, for the Unions and employees, to use Media Day to their advantage.
